Mr. President,
Iceland welcomes the delegation of Georgia and its national report.
In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:
- Investigate and address allegations of human rights violations in the context of public protests.
- Repeal national legislation that limits the rights to freedom of expression and freedom of association and assembly.
- Introduce Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in and out of school settings.
- Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health (SRHR) services and information.
- Repeal discriminatory provisions in national legislation and ensure legal protection for persons of diverse SOGIESC.
- Legalize same sex marriage of consenting adults.
- Decriminalize gender-affirming medical care.
I wish Georgia all success for its review.
