About the Ministry

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing in Iceland was established on March 15th 2025. The Ministry has the responsibility for administration and policy making of social affairs, social security and housing in Iceland as prescribed by law, regulations and other directives.

Among the issues that the Ministry deals with are:
